Joram Zimmermann - IT Manager

Joram fell in love with Pulau Pef already IN 2013 and finally got stranded here!

Born and raised in Zurich, Switzerland, Joram did an apprenticeship as a software developer and studied software engineering right after. An interesting, diverse and instructional "office job" at a technology company followed, where Joram worked in multiple projects for different customers. When the company planned to build up a new unit to provide application management services to customers, Joram joined the initially small team and took part in establishing the service poprtfolio and recruiting new colleagues.

To compensate for the indoor work, (mostly) in front of the computer, Joram and his girlfriend Amanda went to explore the world during their vacations. In 2013, the couple travelled in south east Asia for three months, starting in the Philippines and onwards through Vietnam, Cambodia, Singapore, Palau and ended up in Indonesia. There they met Joram's father who surprised everyone with a trip to the Raja4Divers resort on Pulau Pef. As a passionate diver, Joram enjoyed Raja Ampat very much. Not only below the water but also above, this is one reason why Raja4Divers never left his mind after going back to Switzerland.

Joram thrives for new experiences and to learn new things. In 2016, the time seemed right, to leave sweet home and check out what living and working on a remote island far away from European civilization really means. Thanks to Skype, he was able to hold up the long distance relationship with his girlfriend Amanda. And if you wonder why there are only few pictures of Joram - the reason is simple: most of the time he is behind the lens himself.
