Maya Hadorn - Founder and ManagerMaya is originally from Switzerland and worked many years in the hotel, catering, diving resort and tourism industry. She moved to Raja Ampat, Indonesia in 2006 to manage another diving resort. After staying there for 3 years, she was ready to go home. Just before leaving, she found Pulau Pef and fell in love with the uniqueness and the beauty of this island. She knew immediately that this was the perfect place to build an own resort and so, the Raja4Divers project started in 2009 with the support of her friends and family.
Maya envisioned the incredible potential and a great future in the realm of the "Four Kings", which finally helped her realize the Raja4Divers Resort on Pef Island. With her know-how, experience, reputation and especially with the help of her strong and motivated team, she was and still is convinced of R4D's success, which makes her very proud! Raja4Divers is not only her project, but her passion and her life. Maya speaks German, English, some French and fluent Indonesian. |
Maya:
"I've never seen such diversity and abundance of marine life anywhere in the world as in Raja Ampat, where I have snorkeled with a sperm whale and watched killer whales swim by. We once discovered a sunfish soaking up the sun at the surface and found two pygmy seahorses in the 'beard' of a Wobbegong shark. In one lagoon, we counted up to 16 young black-tip sharks. Mantas come so close that their wing tips brush the divers. Critters such as mimic and blue ring octopi can be found, as well as a myriad of colorful nudibranchs, shrimps, coral in all its guises, and so much more! Every dive, every excursion - whether day or night - is full of excitement!
Anything is possible in Raja Ampat!"
