After trying out several speed boats, we finally chose traditional wooden longboats, which run much more smoothly and safely across the water. Because they are heavier than normal speed boats, they don't bump as much when there are waves.
The PEF VI was actually the first "local speed boat" in Raja Ampat with two big engines; the locals found it highly amusing.
Our three transfer boats PEF V, PEF VI and PEF VII are equipped with two Yamaha 150hp, 200hp and 300hp/4-stroke engines. Inside, you will find mattresses to rest during the journey, as well as drinking water & snacks. The boat ride from Sorong to Pulau Pef will take around 3.5h, depending on the weather and you might even be lucky enough to spot dolphins or whales and a beautiful scenery on the way!
